2015 High-Relief American Gold Liberty Proof

In 2015, the U.S. Mint introduced a magnificent new high-relief solid gold coin: the $100 High-Relief American Liberty Gold Coin. A true work of art, the limited-run 24k gold coin contains 1 troy oz. of 99.99% pure gold and features a classic Grecian inspired Liberty holding a torch of freedom in one hand and the American flag in the other. On the reverse is an American eagle in full flight. The exquisite depth and detail of the engravings could only be accomplished in a high-relief coin. The $100 denomination of the coin is purely symbolic, as it originally sold for an incredible $1,490 (the price of gold at the time) - and it sold out within hours of its initial release! Since then, original specimens have sold for as much as $13,495.
