Arguably the most dangerous criminal of all time, Alfonso Capone was born in 1899 and raised on the tough streets of Brooklyn, New York. It was on these streets that he learned his trade and earned areputation as a gangster and a thug. Sporting a nasty scar received in a bar fight, Al "Scarface Capone eventually left New York for Chicago. It was during prohibition that his organizational skills- and brutally ruthless nature - propelled him to the top of the gangster food chain. Capone controlled speakeasies, gambling, and brothels at an estimated income of $100,000,000 a year. He had policeand politicians on his payroll, so he would not hesitate to paint the streets with blood to get his way. By some estimates he was personally involved in as many as 500 deaths, but it was a charge offederal tax evasion that ended his reign as the most notorious gangster in history.
