Product description
Davy Crockett was a true folk legend. Born on August 17, 1787, in Limestone, Tennessee, David "Davy" Crockett left home at the age of 13. An expert marksman, Davy Crockett earned his reputation as a skilled Indian fighter and heroic frontiersman. He worked as a pioneer, soldier, trapper, explorer, state legislator, and congressman. Crockett served the Army as a battalion commander alongside General Andrew Jackson. Fighting against 1,800 Mexican troops, Davy Crockett died in the Texas War of Independence during the Battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836. It was this heroic stand defending the small fortress in Texas that made him the most famous frontiersman in American history.
