At the height of the muscle car craze, Dodge engineers created one of its most intoxicating machines: the 1969 Dodge Super Bee. The 440 cubic inch V8 engine cranked out nearly 390 horsepower, thanks to its innovative set of three 2-barrel carburetors known as a “Six Pack.” Originally designed as an affordable muscle car, the Super Bee’s raw power and street-tough styling belied its relatively small price tag. Its unique markings – a “rump strip” with the famous bumble bee logo – made it instantly recognizable…if it slowed down enough to be seen.
The Super Bee logo was a cartoon bee sporting fat drag slicks, racing goggles, and a helmet. The famous Super Bee would later market itself in the form of plush stuffed toys, branded jackets, T-shirts, and baseball caps. It was among the first car icons whose branding built a market of its own.
Meticulously designed and impeccable in every detail, this limited edition die cast replica is loaded with features. Opening doors reveal the realistic all-black interior. The hood also opens to reveal an intricately detailed replication of the V8 engine with its famous “Six Pack” carburetors. Its Charger Red baked enamel finish is accented with the famous bumble bee logo on the “rump strip.” Other features include moving wheels and chrome-plated accents.
