- Product description
The Shelby Daytona Coupe was the first car built using aerodynamics on a race car chassis design. It was also one of the first to use wind tunnel tests to reduce the drag of the car. Its roof was odd-shaped, the rear end was chopped off, and it had a movable wing on the rear. This replica with a detailed engine and interior comes with workable steering, free wheels, and opening doors, hood, and rear hatch.
Meticulously designed and impeccable in every detail, this limited edition 1:18 scale precision die-cast replica of Carroll Shelby’s masterpiece is loaded with amazing features. The hood opens to reveal an intricately detailed reproduction of the Ford 4727 cc V8 engine. Opening doors and rear window reveal the realistic interior complete with a spare tire. Shelby’s signature Guardsman Blue exterior with white racing stripes is painstakingly matched to the original color scheme in a lustrous baked-enamel finish. Other features include steerable front tires, chromeplated accents and authentic racing decals from the #15 car driven by Bob Bondurant and Jo Schlesser in the historic 1965 12 Hours of Sebring race.
