Product description
Louis Comfort Tiffany was born in 1848 in New York City. The son of Charles Lewis Tiffany, founder of Tiffany and Company, Louis followed his own path to success as an extremely gifted designer of magnificent stained glass windows. He innovated new techniques in glassmaking that would lead to some of the most beautiful works of glass art ever created and it would become his legacy. After joining his father’s firm as vice-president and its first artistic director in 1902, Tiffany expanded his artistic reach, producing some of his finest and most celebrated pieces. By combining gemstones, enameling, and metalwork in magnificent Art Nouveau designs, items such as jewelry, vases, bowls and boxes and the highly prized lamps added to his worldwide acclaim and established him as one of history’s greatest designers. Tiffany was driven by beauty. His life’s work culminated in the unified artistic expression that was his Long Island home called Laurelton Hall. After his death in 1933, the estate fell on hard times. By 1946, the contents of the grand house had been auctioned off and then, in 1957, a devastating fire destroyed what remained of Laurelton Hall.

Today, the legacy of Louis Comfort Tiffany is maintained through the efforts of great benefactors and museums such as The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park, Florida, and The Museum Guild, who helped develop this extraordinary jewelry collection inspired by the works of this legendary genius.

Designed by The Museum Guild in cooperation with the The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, the Pebble Window Ring was inspired by an incredible stained glass and pebble floral window created by world-famous artist Louis Comfort Tiffany. The skilled artisans at The Museum Guild used brilliant white and chocolate-brown crystals to emulate the quartz pebbles Tiffany used in his beautiful masterpiece. The multifacated crystals are carefully hand-set into the flowery petals of the gold-tone floral setting.
The ring is available in whole sizes only from 5-10.
