- Product description
The obverse of the Gold Eagle coin recycles Augustus Saint-Gaudens' design from the Walking Liberty coin that was minted from 1916 to 1947. It features Lady Liberty holding a torch in her right hand, an olive branch in her left, and the Capitol building in the background. The reverse, by sculptor Miley Busiek, features a family of eagles. Introduced in 1986, 2011 marked the 25th anniversary of Gold Eagle coins.
